1. Remove the Cargo Box Tub by removing the 4 Torx bolts towards the rear of the vehicle. It may be necessary to remove additional plastic panels around the tub.
2. Raise the rear of the vehicle so that the rear tires are no longer touching the ground. Ensure the vehicle is safely supported before beginning the installation.
3. Remove the tires. It will make getting the radius rod ends aligned with the bolt holes easier.
4. Remove the four nuts and bolts securing the factory radius rod plate to the vehicle.
NOTE: It is a tight fit, but it is possible to get a box end wrench onto the nuts. You can refer to our installation video for some helpful tips.
5. While the plate is off, install the two edge clips as seen in the following images.
6. Install the new plate reusing the factory hardware. Make sure not to pinch the wires from the plate.
7. Torque the bolts following Polaris’ recommended torque sequence.
- Torque all bolts to 52 ft lbs
- Tighten an additional 90°
8. Reinstall the tires, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts.
9. Unplug the passenger side taillight and connect the provided harness into the taillight and OEM harness. Use the images below as reference.
10. Disconnect the back up camera from the OEM harness. Plug in the provided wire harness into the back up camera connections. Use the image below as a reference.
11. Route the provided wire harness as seen in the following images.
12. Secure the harness using the provided cable ties.
13. Secure the connector from the plate and the harness to the edge clips that were installed in a previous step. Plug in the harness to the plate.
14. Check to make sure the lights are working as intended. The license plate will always be illuminated while the reverse light will turn on in reverse.
